Cactus Open House

We enjoyed spending the day with our clients, Cactus Drilling, for their open house event. It rained the whole time so I didn't get to have the camera out as much as I wanted. This was the first time I had seen all of our photography up on their new office walls so that was really cool to see. This was also the first time I have been on a shiney new rig, not yet in service. They had their new R-156 AC Rocket Rig set up out back. Cactus is stand-up group of people and we're honored to work with them.

Sunrise at the Oklahoma State Capitol

This is a great time of year to get out and shoot some sunrises. Daylight savings pushed the sunrise back a bit, the weather is great and everything is turning green. I spent a couple hours shooting at the state capitol this morning. This set of photos will be displayed in US Congressman James Lankford's office in Washington D.C. Many of my recent aerial photos are already on display there.

IVM in the press!

We have been receiving a lot of buzz about some of our recent aerial work and some of our friends in the local media have taken notice. Our friend Steve Lackmeyer with the Oklahoman has recently used two of our pictures in Sunday issues of The Oklahoman. You can read those here and here. We really appreciate our friends over at IonOklahoma for writing this awesome article about our company. Look for an new feature about our comapny with several new photos to come out in an upcoming issue of IonOklahoma magazine.

Gary England and Michael Armstrong at KWTV 9 showed the above photo on air. I shot this at about 2000 feet just outside of El Reno. This massive low level cloud bank was about to swallow the OKC metro. Needless to say we had to turn the ship around and head back.

New OKC Aerials

These photos were taken by Director of Photography and President of IVM, Cooper Ross during two recent aerial photo shoots. We had to cut the first flight short due to a massive low level cloud bank that was approaching the Oklahoma City area. The last photo in the slide show was taken just west of El Reno at about 2000 feet. Notice the ominous wall of fog with cirrus clouds above. It was an impressive sight. Special thanks to helicopter pilot Brian Winslow for not crashing us into the Devon tower.
